DIMENSIONS
The dimensions of the spiral, i.e.
the inner diameter (d) or outer diameter (D),
the length of the spiral section (L), as well as the length and position of the free ends
(L1), (L2), are subject to arrangements with the customer.
SPIRAL WINDING (coiling)
Spiral cables are used to connect devices where distances change during device operation.
For many reasons, it’s important that the cable doesn’t hang loosely, which could lead to damage or interfere with device operation. In such cases, a spiral cable is the solution. It undergoes a special process to
give it a spring-like (Helicoidal) shape and properties, which it retains even after many thousands of
stretching cycles.
Spiral cords are custom-made and require special design to meet customer expectations. We craft spirals using PVC or polyurethane (PUR) coated wires, available in glossy or matte finishes. Those made with PUR-coated wires boast high elasticity, capable of stretching up to 3-4 times their resting length.
We handle the production of spirals with non-standard constructions, varying wire cross-sections,
and diameters (e.g., shielded wires), as well as spiraling entrusted wires (as a service), adhering to
customer documentation or specifications. Wykonujemy także spirals using polyurethane-coated cotton or Kevlar cords.
Presently, we manufacture both long and very short spirals. In long spirals, the spiral section measures up to 1500mm at rest.
Short spirals, consisting of only a few coils, aid in reducing
material fatigue and wire breakage when frequent bending of the wire over a short distance and at a
large angle is required.
